Is Yoga really beneficial for runners?

Is Yoga Really Beneficial for Runners?

The answer is simple, yes.  Yoga can help you to build flexibility, strength and balance to enable you to become a more efficient and powerful runner.

  • Increased flexibility = improved range of motion and more efficient movement
  • Increased strength = stronger muscles ( including core) and more powerful movement
  • Improved balance = greater understanding and connection to your body and more efficient movement

Runners’ Edge “Yoga for Runners” classes offer a unique opportunity to experience the synergy between yoga and running in a safe and fun atmosphere. There is not another class like it in Niagara! Each class focuses on different parts of the body to complement your running practice, including: hips, hamstrings, core, hip flexors, quadriceps, and upper body.

Be prepared to challenge yourself, learn about your body, work hard and sweat, meet new runners and have fun. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday morning with other runners.
